Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Is a tool used in Massage Therapy/and or Physical Therapy that is made of stainless steel. It allows the therapist to perform tissue-specific treatment not possible with hands alone. It is designed to provide a mobilizing effect to loosen up scar tissue and myofascial adhesions. The therapist uses their hands to feel for restrictions in the tissues and then uses the tool to help loosen those restrictions.
